Over the past two weekends, August 9 & 10 and August 16 & 17 , Downey Selections and Tradewinds co-hosted a very special wine class and dinner at Cheestique Cheese and Wine bar in Alexandria, Virginia. This is another of the many successful events that the locally based companies have done to help extend the popularity of Spanish wines.

Over the weekend Tradewinds had the pleasure of co-sponsoring the official Player Party for the Legg Mason Tennis Classic, held at L2 in Georgetown. It was a great opportunity to be part of one of DC’s most popular, and highly anticipated, annual sporting events.
The event particularly attracted many US tennis players, along with many local sports advocates including Mayor Adrian Fenty and former Miss DC Kate Michael.
For Tradewinds though, this was a fitting event to introduce 2 of the newest verdejo gems of the portfolio – Mania. The Mania 100% Verdejo, is a brilliantly refreshing wine from Rueda, with citrus undertones that are impeccably smooth and refreshing. The innovative butterfly shaped label is also a true testament to the creativity of its winemaker, Felix Cachazo.
