Tradewinds Specialty Imports is now the wine sponsor and Corporate Member of The Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Inc. —First order of business is providing the wine for the Spanish Mile Soho in New York, on June 25th, 6-10pm
As a member of The Chamber, Tradewinds joins the like of being among the "most influential companies in the world of business" as a true indicator of the firm's passion and dedications to Spanish food, culture and industry.
The Spain-US Chamber of Commerce has organized this annual event for the past four years to celebrate the hard work and dedication of Spanish designers, who have maintained an extremely high level of quality and have performed well in the competitive U.S. market. The event also helps create a platform for Spanish companies that don’t yet have a presence in U.S. market.
The Spanish Mile in Soho started in 2006, with five participating designers. This year there will be 36, ten of whom have a store in Manhattan. This event has become a staple for New York fashionistas, designers, and fashion professionals, and continues to show the United States what Spanish fashion means and how a Spanish fashion identity is growing in New York
This event is also a great opportunity for Spain to learn the ins and outs of the New York fashion market. More than twenty Spanish correspondents follow this event every year, and in past years the Spanish Mile has caught the attention of designers such as Carolina Herrera and young entrepreneurs like Donald Trump Jr. who want to give their support to the initiative.
The event consists of a fashion tour though many locations. Different venues will offer their visitors fashion, special discounts, Spanish tapas, Spanish wines and beers, and a Spanish party. Every stop will be a unique Spanish fashion celebration. It won’t be a single party, but rather twelve different ones.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Camper, Custo Barcelona, Desigual, Jaime Mascaro, Lladro, Mango, Pronovias, Tous, Sol de Ibiza, and 25 other leading Spanish designers and brands under the Trade Commission of Spain and the Valencian Institute for Export Promotion will participate in the event. The fourth annual celebration will be a great accomplishment for U.S.-Spain fashion sector relations.
Forecasts have been made for more than 1200 people. The tour will start at 6:00 p.m. This year passports will be distributed to all the public attending the event, which it will include discounts to both participating stores, and restaurants. Passports will be stamped in each store.
